I’m so happy when I look at this card! Daisies are a flower which always brings a smile to me and Daisy Delight has brought many smiles to my studio/craft room! This card utilizes both watercolour pencils and white craft ink on top of the cheerful new in colour: Berry Blast and as it has made me happy I hope it shares happiness with you too!
I used Bright Wishes stamped in Soft Sky and the coloured the outlines and added some shading with my Stampin Write Markers to come up with this. The sentiment is stamped with Tranquil Tide and I hand drew some little leaves around it with a Lemon Lime Twist Stampin Write Marker. Finally finished with Cajun Craze Enamel Shapes.
Another example of the Eastern Palace suite. Used Fresh Fig and Lemon Lime Twist with the blender pen and covered with one of the gold stickers. Stamped background with Lemon Lime Twist and sentiment with Fresh Fig on Very Vanilla card stock. Used Tranquil Tide card stock for the banner and wrapped with gold thread and tied a Fresh Fig tassel to it and mounted it with Stampin Dimensionals. Matted it with Fresh Fig card stock and Finished by mounting it all on a Very Vanilla Thick card base. I think it’s my favourite so far!!!
I must say a white watercolour pencil is something I had somewhat protested to. Any good watercolourist would tell you no I do not use white I use the paper to create my white. So I decided to move beyond the bounds of watercolour and try my watercolour pencil as like a pastel pencil and use white on a darker paper a common pastel technique and I love the harmony of it. Yay for versatility!!!!
I’ve been working all weekend playing with the Eastern Palace suite from the upcoming 2017-2018 Annual catalog. And this was my first creation. It uses the Eastern Beauty stamp set, Eastern Medallions Thinlits Dies and a touch of the Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers. There are 3 new in-colours in this Fresh Fig, Tranquil Tide and Lemon Lime Twist. I have a feeling I will spend the next two years going nuts with Lemon Lime Twist and no apologies!!!!
This is the 3rd card I’m teaching at this months technique class and I won’t be showing the surprise project until after the session on April 21. There’s still one opening on April 14th so if you wish to learn both heat and pressure embossing then feel free to join us Email at firstname.lastname@example.org for details. For our May technique class we will be doing masking technique. Note: this card has combined heat and pressure embossing.
Gotta say love the set High Tide and I felt I needed to get creative last night. However I was supposed to create some easy cards for beginners and since this card arose from my 4th try at creating this stampscape I realized it was not suitable for beginners. I did accomplish one of my goals which was to use Always Artichoke ink and Card Stock for the first time. Tonight it’s back to the drawing board to create something (3 something’s to be exact) I’m not good at keeping things easy!!!! 😂
Ok so I know it’s Monday. But hopefully this will bring a smile instead of the Monday blahs! I’m introducing my next technique which is going to be embossing both heat and pressure embossing. This card shows heat embossing and will be one of the cards I teach. Now I’m waiting for supplies for my other two cards so I may or may not have the 2nd card ready for show by Friday so I might stick with posting them on Monday. The interesting thing this time is I’ve showed this card around a bit already and I was going to hold just one class on Friday April 21 but that class is now full. So I’m thinking I can offer either Thursday April 13 or Friday April 14 around 6:30 or 7-9pm I welcome any feedback on what works for you. The surprise project of course won’t be showing on my page until after April 21 when I hold my last April technique class. And just throwing it out there but this month it’s not a card but a 3D project!!! Any way if you want to find out more you can message me or email at email@example.com thanks!!!
Ok this one may look a bit familiar but it is slightly different from the one I created last month. I changed the colours and to “watercolour” my lady from Beautiful You I used the watercolour pencils, instead of ink, with the blender pens. I didn’t have the same palette available to me with the watercolour pencils so I changed it up. This one to me is a lot warmer. The colours are Real Red, Calypso Coral, Watermelon Wonder, Early Expresso, Crumb Cake, So Saffron, Pool Party and Blushing Bride. Have fun with your inks and try different colour schemes with your cards. It’s a lot of fun!
Sale-a-bration item: Avant Garden stamp set featured here. I used a brayer to cover Whisper White with Sweet Sugarplum ink then stamped the background with bleach using the flower stamp from the set. I then stamped the sentiment and dots using the same stamp set and on a separate Whisper White card stock. I stamped the main flower then fussy cut it and attached it with Stampin Dimensionals. For a glitzy finish I dabbed around some wink of Stella in gold. And mounted it on Old Olive and Rich Razzleberry card stock and finally a Whisper White Thick card base.
