I’m really glad I got to participate in a swap with my team. Im currently moving but this card felt just right and it used the Let it Ride stamp set. And Meant to Be bundle.
I wanted to share something I did last year which was way out of my comfort zone sorta like moving to Chilliwack is for me right now I went to Fort Nelson BC and participated in the harvest at Young Living’s Northern Lights Black Spruce farm and we went to the Yukon border to the hot springs and the whore frost was magnificent! I have never experienced anything like it.
-40 degrees Celsius is incredibly cold but the whole thing was worth it and the water felt great!
It’s Christmas Day! I can’t believe it’s been another year! Just a short post to wish you the best and recap the year!
Here is the collage of the my favourite cards of 2018!
And finally to help you get in the festive mood a diffuser blend for the holidays!
I’m dreaming of sunshine, meadows and horses! I’m moving to Chilliwack soon and I’m looking forward to being out of the city! Fresh air, art and my oils as well as the open areas I’m looking forward to exploring. I was thinking about all these things as I created this card using the Stampin’ Up! Stamps Let it Ride and Waterfront!
I made my last Christmas card for 2018 with the remembrance of my trip up north this year to make Northern Lights Black Spruce Oil in Fort Nelson BC. It was a huge opportunity and one I will never forget. I dedicate my final 2018 card to the people of the North! Particularly the Inuit and indigenous people who I call my friends! I have a heart for the North and I plan on going there again someday to visit again and this time I dream of putting my foot in the Arctic Ocean!
Here’s a photo of my trip up there I hope you’re dreaming of what makes you happy as you look at it and may your dreams for 2019 be your new reality! Thank you for a great year and I look forward to another year of art and oils!
This year has felt terribly dark for me so I wanted to make a card symbolic of the Winter Solstice and the return of light in the darkness. I used the stamp set Let it Ride and I silhouetted it on my background which is made by putting a dab of ink from an ink refill on a cotton ball saturated with rubbing alcohol in this case the inks were Calypso Coral, Lovely Lipstick and Gorgeous Grape all on Glossy White Card Stock. I added the horse and sentiment with Stazon ink in Black and then coloured in the horse with a Basic Black Stampin Write Marker.
For our team meeting this month Rhonda Wade designed this really nice Paper framed 3d piece! I must say it made my day. Going into the new year with this beautiful Love Sign just feels so cheerful! It’s made with the Be Mine Stitched Framelits Dies and the Large Letters Framelits Dies. There’s also Sparkle Glimmer Paper, Whisper White and Flirty Flamingo Card Stock and a Needlepoint Nook Mini Button with 3 strands of Rose Metallic Thread tied in a bow.
Finally Two Oils I chose to get my through these cold wet winter months feeling my best…Northern Lights Black Spruce and Thieves. Elevate my mood and help me stay healthy.
I once again answered a sketch challenge with this card using the stamp set Let it Ride from the Occasions Catalog 2019 as well as combining it with the Chase your Dreams dies. I really enjoy doing the Crafty Medics creative challenges and this one was no exception!
I’m also really glad the set Winter Woods made the carryover list. I was playing with backgrounds and vellum and it was a lot of fun creating this Christmas card!
While I was playing with creating backgrounds I felt moved to use an old stamp out of my collection which is more than 10 years old. And this is what I came up with.
Finally we are getting in the festive mood and got the charcoal grey lantern diffuser and put it on the mantle with the candlelight flicker setting!
So with December around the corner Christmas Carols and Decorating are all around and I love sending out my cards this time of year. I was challenged by a fellow Stamper to come up with a a card using greys, black and white and this is what I came up with.
It has the stamp set Snow is Glistening Heat Embossed in the background and the Still Night Bundle in the foreground the colours are Basic Black, Basic Grey, Smoky Slate and Whisper White. The end effect is stunning!
I was also challenged by another stamping friend to come up with something from the Annual Catalog and I felt this time like using non traditional colours and this is what I came up with…
I used the Hearts Come Home Bundle and Champagne foil as well as the non traditional colours Blackberry Bliss, and Gorgeous Grape as well as sponged on Grapefruit Grove ink in the background.
Finally I did some oily decorating around here with the Young Living DIY Diffuser Garland which I added Idaho Balsam Fir Oil to and with Christmas music playing in the background I feel really ready for the holidays!
Here’s the other set in the Snowflake Showcase…Happiness Surrounds
This card is something European looking. Happiness Surrounds makes beautiful spring beautiful cards as well. And it also can be used with the Snowflakes from Snow is Glistening! Another stamp set I have played around with lately is Dashing Deer!
I was challenged to come up with something using the non traditional colour Petal Pink.
This season is getting crisp! What better way to warm up then with Cardamom reminiscent of chai lattes and the fireplace crackling!
Stampin’ Up! Has just come up with the most beautiful special release suite Snowflake Showcase!
The above card shows some of the Dies There are so many to choose from (20 dies in all) some snowy others are Floral a great suite for both Christmas and all occasions alike. I’m focusing on the Snow is Glistening set for now but next I will feature the Happiness Surrounds stamp set which is not too Christmas making this suite perfect for all year around.
Just an oil blend to help to get the creative juices flowing! Hope you’re having a great day!
First of all I just wanted to say thank you to all my viewers and followers!
This card is quite the extravaganza! Features the A Big Thank You Bundle with “thank you” cut out of galvanized metallic paper coloured with Blends in Rich Razzleberry, Stitched All Around Framelits, Frosted Floral Specialty DSP, Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets and finished with Rich Razzleberry Velvet Ribbon. I’m so pleased with how this turned out!
Christmas? Or maybe just fun in the snow…
Spirited Snowmen is a great go to stamp set. Here I’ve accented with a bit of Shimmer Paint and a strand of Poppy Parade Textured Weave Ribbon. Just so happy!
Then there was my Swap card…
